Midway through their set, The White White Lights would send a chill up the crowd’s collective spines when lead singer Jenny Gacy dedicated “It’s Cold Out Here In Japan” to the troubled country. Before and after, however, the cosmically post-punk foursome had everybody in a fit, shaking down with a devilish touch on the Friday night before South by Southwest.

Two things you’ll need to know: they’re called the White White Lights, and they’re about to play really loud. Lead howler Jenny Gacy told you so much right at the onset of the mucked up “Swampland Man,” right before the local quartet ripped Cheer Up Charlie’s to pieces. By “Heresy” they’re off, and these hellraisers ain’t taking no prisoners. Just grab whatever you can and hold on tight.
