Covert Curiosity and The Reverberation Appreciation Society crossed paths during Free Week in early 2011 and said, "Hey, lets do something together sometime." The showcase at Emo's on the Monday of SXSW was that something. One of the six acts featured on the bill was Christian Bland, best known as guitarist for The Black Angels. He took the stage and awestruck crowd watched and listened as this linchpin of modern psychedelia performed a set of his original songs. - Lawrence Boone
