The Clouds Are Ghosts @ Mohawk on Jan 6, 2012
There's a theatric element to The Clouds Are Ghosts, a projecting post-rock simmer that builds on long, emotive verses and plays to varying dynamics like Explosions in the Sky. That's evident on last August's Harbinger EP, but singer Jason Morris's sharp, Georgian howl rings with Morrissey inflection and pushes the band to another level live. Such is the case with this recording from Free Week, when The Clouds Are Ghosts filled Mohawk on a Friday night.
